The Department of Chemistry at 17c起草视频 invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in analytical chemistry beginning August 2026. The department invites candidates with backgrounds in all areas of chemistry who are passionate about teaching the instrumental analysis course sequence and mentoring undergraduate researchers. Teaching responsibilities may also include general chemistry lecture, introductory lab, and/or advanced courses in the candidate’s specialty. The college maintains a 6/6/7 three-year teaching load, with lecture and laboratory offerings given equal weight. The major in chemistry is approved by the American Chemical Society, and the major in biochemistry and molecular biology is accredited by the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Students enjoy the department’s unique laboratory program composed of eight semester-long research-style projects, the last four of which are directed independent research projects. The department, which has mentored two Goldwater Scholars in the past seven years, is equipped with research grade instruments and has a burgeoning instrument endowment. The department is housed in the new Pauley Science Center which opened in the Fall of 2022.

Hampden–Sydney College invites applications for a full–time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Economics and Business to begin in July of 2026. A Ph.D. in accounting, management, economics, or a related field is required. Professional work experience and/or a professional certification in Accounting (CPA. CMA, etc.) is preferred but not required. Applicants may be ABD but should expect to complete the Ph.D. by the start date and must provide evidence of teaching experience.
Candidates should be prepared to teach courses in managerial accounting, financial accounting, and an elective field such as financial statement analysis or similar.

17c起草视频’s Rhetoric Program invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Rhetoric with a specialization in Public Speaking/Oral Communication to serve as the Coordinator of our Public Speaking Program. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Communication, Rhetoric, or a related field by August 2026 and, preferably, at least two years of college-level teaching experience in public speaking or other courses requiring substantial amounts of presentation. We are especially interested in applicants who bring additional teaching, service, and research experience from a related subfield, including but not limited to public speaking pedagogy, rhetorical studies, persuasion/social influence, environmental rhetoric, argumentation, organizational communication, intercultural communication, strategic communication, instructional communication, group communication, interpersonal communication, communication theory, experiential learning, and/or communication research methods.

Courses: While a typical course load at the College is six to seven courses per academic year, the successful candidate for this position will teach four to five courses per year and have administrative responsibilities (expected to amount to two course equivalencies per year) as a Coordinator of our Public Speaking Program and associated public speaking programming in the Rhetoric Studio, our speaking, writing, and digital center. This position’s primary teaching responsibilities will be in our Rhetoric Minor and will consist of some combination of the following courses:

The Fine Arts Department of 17c起草视频 invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track professor in Studio Art. The appointment is at the Assistant Professor level and will begin August of 2026. Applicants must have an MFA by the date of appointment. Teaching experience beyond the level of teaching assistant is desired.
We seek outstanding teachers with expertise in darkroom and digital photography, to join a small studio arts program within a vibrant liberal-arts community. Preference will be given to candidates with additional experience in video and/or two-dimensional design (with digital components). Well-qualified candidates will demonstrate innovative teaching methods; a strong exhibition record; a knowledge of contemporary art and its history; and an ability to integrate traditional studio craft with newer technologies. Candidates must be committed to undergraduate liberal-arts education and express a strong desire to contribute to an evolving arts program. We seek a colleague who can foster interdisciplinary connections both within the Fine Arts Department and across the College as a whole.
The successful candidate will have the skills necessary to effectively mentor students and to encourage growth in both their creative thinking and their craft. Additionally, candidates must possess organizational skills: ability to manage the darkroom, digital lab, and design studio; and effectiveness in sharing the responsibilities of a small department.
The successful candidate will teach beginner through advanced courses in lens-based art, as well as design, and work with other Visual Arts faculty to supervise senior thesis projects. They will be encouraged to develop courses in their area(s) of interest. Teaching load is 3 courses per semester plus one additional course every three years.
